A man has been rescued from a fire that damaged almost three-quarters of his Croydon bungalow.
Firefighters were called to the blaze in Arundel Road about 9.40pm last night by a neighbour in a next door terraced bungalow.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued the man, who was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.
About 20 firefighters from Croydon and Norbury extinguished the blaze by 10.20pm but not before 70 per cent of the bungalow was damaged by the fire.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
