Beaten lollipop man resumes job
A battered lollipop man who became the second to be attacked in the borough in less than six months has bravely returned to work.
Plucky Barry Cox was attacked by two drunken yobs after they grabbed his stick and threw it through the windscreen of a passing car in Bensham Road, Broad Green.
The 64-year-old, a former Territorial Army paratrooper, was left black and blue after the brutal attack which knocked out four of his teeth.

He said: "They hit me so hard it knocked out four of my teeth, my crowns dropped into my mouth."
When asked whether he would continue to work as a lollipop man he added: "Of course, I even finished my shift on the day it happened and went in the following day. I confronted them and they just attacked me, I saw their faces but I don't remember them saying anything."
In October last year Wiktor Molleskog was seriously injured when he was attacked by 29-year-old New Addington thug Nikki Walker. That attack took place in full view of distraught children and parents outside Greenvale Primary School in Sandpiper Road.
Detective Constable Matt Johnston said: "I am appealing for anyone with information to come forward. I am also keen to hear from the driver of the vehicle to assist with my inquiries."
