A New Addington fencer who admitted beating a lollipop man with his own stick now says he also kicked the 65-year-old while he lay on the ground.

Nikki Walker, a 29-year-old fencer, pleaded guilty to attacking Wiktor Molleskog in front of terrified pupils and parents at Croydon Crown Court in January but initially denied kicking the elderly man.

But during a hearing at the court today Walker, who has been charged with actual bodily harm with intent, agreed he had kicked Mr Molleskog during the attack last October after eyewitnesses said they were willing to testify against him.

Mr Molleskog was viciously beaten in front of pupils and parents outside Greenvale Primary School in Sandpiper Road.

He was left with serious head injuries and was transferred from Mayday Hospital to St George's Hospital in Tooting for further treatment.

The court heard Walker was driven into a rage after Mr Molleskog told him he could not park where he had.

After an argument Walker left before returning and attacking Mr Molleskog.

Prosecuter Hamish Reid said: "One wonders why it has taken so long for Mr Walker to change his plea. I must commend the bravery of the witnesses who willingly came forward to assist the prosecuton in their inquiries. Justice could not be served if it was not for them."

Walker's sentencing has been scheduled for June 6 while the court waits for a pre-sentencing report.

Recorder Marios Lambis warned Walker a jail term was very possible.
