A cannabis factory containing more than 200 plants has been discovered after police raided a house in Selhurst.

Officers from the Selhurst, Broad Green, West Thornton and Norbury Safer Neighbourhood teams raided an address in Windmill Road this morning.

Police suspicions were raised after officers smelt a strong smell of cannabis coming from the address whilst patrolling the area.

More than 200 plants were discovered in several rooms inside the address, along with ventilation, lighting and heating equipment.

PC David Watling, from the Selhurst SNT who organised the raid, said: “Today’s warrant is part of Operation Hawk and the Met’s continued drive to tackle street-level drug dealing and cultivation.

“On this occasion, it is thanks to our officers on patrol that have noticed the strong smell of cannabis coming from the building that we’ve been able to uncover a cannabis factory.

“If anyone has similar concerns about drug use or supply in their neighbourhood, then we would encourage local residents to report it to police so we can take appropriate action.”

No arrests have been made.
