School children took part in a fun-filled practical session about fruit and vegetables in New Addington.

Staff at the Cricketers Harvester restaurant teamed up with a chef to teach 30 pupils from Gilbert Scott Primary School about the importance of their five-a-day.

Children learned about the origins of freshly prepared vegetables and then had a go at blind tasting different types of vegetables.

Manager of the Cricketers Harvester, Mick Rutt, said: "The session was a fun way to get the children talking about why their five-a-day is so important "It is part of Harvester’s mission to bring out the best in the local community by encouraging people of all ages to come together."
