A celebration for Black History Month was held at Fairfield Halls last week.
People from all over Britain were invited to attend the day, to praise the input different cultural groups have given to British society, and to gain an insight into black history and culture.
The event was organised by Care Management Group, a leading independent provider, who support people with learning disabilities and associated complex needs.
Some of the activities that took place included African dancing, food tasting, drumming and a fashion show.
Speaking on the day, Coun Tony Harris, the deputy mayor of Croydon, said: "Having people from all over the country come to Croydon to celebrate Black History Month is quite special, I thoroughly enjoyed it."
