Landlords are being urged to consider the advantages of renting their properties through the council.

Croydon Council are keen to speak to landlords with properties in the borough about the benefits of the rental schemes on offer.

Schemes such as Croybond aimed at professional landlords, offer a one-off incentive payment and one month's rend in advance and a bond of six weeks.

This includes a free professional housing, health and safety rating inspection of the property.

The council's other scheme Croylease, is targeted at landlords with a fewer number of properties, providing a guaranteed rental income for the next five years, with full management service and no risk of a void period.

Councillor Dudley Mead, cabinet member for housing said "To boost the supply of housing, we are keen to get private landlords to rent through the council by signing up to these great schemes which offer a range of fantastic benefits."
