Over 150 people have applied for just 11 jobs at a new Tesco Express store.

Staff for the new shop on Southend Road, have been recruited from around the borough.

Store manager Jigar Shah conducted over 60 interviews for the positions.

He said: "I was thrilled by the response we received to our recruitment drive.

"In this time of economic uncertainty it is great that we are able to create jobs for our local community and help get people back into work."
