A bus is touring the borough this month giving tips on how to keep warm during winter.

Croydon Council, in partnership with Croydon Neighbourhood Care, has produced 10,000 leaflets with the advice, which also aims to keep fuel bills at a minimum.

The Croydon Partnership for Older People Service, a mobile information bus for over 50s, is distributing the leaflets to social care teams, voluntary groups, meals on wheels customers and the general public.

The tips encourage people to stay moving, eat well, get a flu jab, find ways of saving energy while keeping warm and apply for a grant to make their home energy efficient.

The bus is also taking bookings for free home energy efficiency checks.

Individuals can either visit the bus to make a booking or call 0800 652 7206 quoting Croydon POP.

To find out when and where the bus is visiting, call 020 8654 4440.

In severe weather conditions, some Neighbourhood Care groups may be able to help those who are vulnerable and isolated with small amounts of shopping for essential items.
