Children at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, were overjoyed when the cast of The Wind in the Willows turned up to provide a little festive cheer.
Characters Mr Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger signed autographs, answered questions and posed for photos in the children’s ward.
The cast were taking time out from their production at the Polka Theatre in Wimbledon, which runs until February.
Rosie Littleboy, lead play specialist at the hospital, said: "Christmas can be a really difficult time for children who are stuck in hospital and the visit provided lots of smiles and laughter for the children and their families."
