Bin collections for people scheduled to have their rubbish picked up on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day will be moved.
People who would have their bins emptied on Christmas Day will have them picked up on Thursday, December 27, those who would ordinarily have rubbish collected on Boxing Day will have it picked up on Friday, December 28, and bin collections that would happen on New Year's Day will happen on Wednesday January 2.
All other scheduled collections will be unchanged.
Councillor Colin Hall, deputy leader of Sutton Council, said: "We want to keep disruption to frontline services to a minimum over the festive period that’s why we will only be altering collection dates on three days.
"I’d urge residents to check the dates they are expecting a collection to avoid unnecessary rubbish and recycling building up outside their homes."
People will be able to leave their real Christmas trees to be collected with their recycling between Monday, January 7, and Saturday, February 2.
