A new scheme has been devised to help Walton businesses compete with chains and supermarkets.
Walton Business Group (WBG) created a new window sticker that will encourage people to use local businesses.
WBG is distributing window stickers to members and they are going up all over town to show which businesses support the group.
The first batch was snapped up at Walton Farmers’ Market and more will be available at the February market.
The WBG launched its business plan in 2012 and engages directly with people to support community and business concerns.
It also maintains the regular farmers’ market and hosts the Christmas Festival of Light and summer fairs.
Sarah-Jane Shellard, director of the Walton Business Group, said: “It is super to talk to shoppers about their thoughts on the town and this gives us the chance to promote the great selection of shops, restaurants and services our members offer.
“Hopefully the window sticker scheme will bring the businesses and local community closer still.”
