House prices in the borough rose at the third-fastest rate in London during November, new figures have showed.

The value of the average Croydon property increased by 1.1 per cent over the month, according to the latest Land Registry statistics.

Only Brent and Camden saw faster rises.

Property prices have climbed 3.1 per cent in Croydon since November 2011, with the average house now valued at £251,151.

It remains the sixth cheapest London borough in which to buy a house.
