Mayor of Croydon councillor Eddy Arram
Mayor Eddy Arram is to host a horse-racing night this later month to raise money for charities.
Attendees can bet on their chosen horses while tucking into a ploughman's supper at the Mayor of Croydon Race Night on Friday, January 25.
Entry to the event at the Town Hall on Katherine Street will cost £12.50, which includes a race card, food and wine.
Punters can sponsor horses for £5, with prize money of £25 up for grabs in each race.
They can also pay £25 to sponsor a horse in the final race to stand a chance of winning £100.
The proceeds of the night will go to the Croydon branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association.
The night will run from 7pm to 10pm.
