Luqman Chowtee was the first New Year's baby at Croydon University Hospital
Four delighted families celebrated New Year welcoming new babies.
The four boys were born at Croydon University Hospital within an hour of each other on New Year's Day.
Shaheen Codabaccus gave birth to Luqman Chowtee, who was the first baby born on New Year's Day by just a minute.
Luqman who was due to be born on Boxing Day, arrived at 5.17am weighing 7lb 14oz.
Mrs Codabaccus, 31, said: "I was overdue but the hospital told me I had to wait, so it was a case of just waiting until he was ready.
"I left home at 3.30am in the morning and he had arrived by 5.17am."
Luqman is now at home in South Croydon with his mum, dad Mamode Chowtee and sister Asiyah who is 21 months.
Mrs Codabaccus added: "Asiyah is very happy. I thought she might be jealous but she hasn't been. She loves him very much."
