A car stolen by the suspected killers of a man in Isleworth was found dumped in Croydon.

Darryl McClymont was found stabbed in Ferney Meade Way, Isleworth, at around midnight on December 29 and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men were seen attempting to lift the 23-year-old's body into the boot of his silver Mazda 3, but left him on the road after being disturbed.

The men described as black, aged in their early to mid-20s, of proportionate build and wearing dark clothing, fled the estate in his car which was driven by a third person.

There is no description of the driver who remained in the car.

On New Year's Day the car was discovered in Carlyle Road in Addiscombe, at the junction with Northampton Road.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade confirmed they were called to reports of a car alight at 00.50am and crews distinguished the fire within minutes of arriving.

A dark skinned black man, about 5' 8' tall with a slim, athletic build, who was in possession of an accelerant was disturbed at the scene.

Police were called and carried out door to door enquiries and were seen to be searching nearby gardens and drains.

Officers are continuing to appeal for information about the murder.

DI John McQuade said: "We believe that a suspect inside the car also tried to set it on fire in an attempt to destroy evidence.

"I would urge anyone who saw this event or who has knowledge of it to contact us urgently.

"Additionally we are looking for witnesses to the initial abandoning of the car the day before in the early hours of Sunday 30 December.

"I believe that the same individuals were involved in both events."

A 23-year-old man arrested on December 31, has been bailed to returned in early February.

A second 23-year-old arrested on January 1, on suspicion of murder remains in custody.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 0208 721 4005 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
