Armed robber makes off with shop's cash

Police are searching for an armed robber who threatened two shopkeepers with a knife before making off with a large amount of cash.

Officers were called at 7.50pm on Monday evening to Martin McColls newsagents, in Calley Down Crescent, New Addington.

The man had stolen a large amount of money from the store after threatening two members of staff with a knife.

There have been no arrests at this stage and no one was hurt.

Croydon CID are investigating the matter. Anyone with information should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
