Tramlink services were delayed this evening due to a car being stuck on the tracks.

Services were suspended between East Croydon and Lloyds Park and Addiscombe, after a car became stuck on the tracks at Sandilands tram stop.

Leroy D'Anjou who was down at the scene said: "The car had a foreign registration plate, but the driver was very English.

"We got off a tram that was going to be pulling away and he was driving up behind it.

"We tried to stop him from driving up any further, but he just kept going until his car was stuck between the sleepers on the track-it was crazy.

A TfL spokesman said normal service had resumed

Aparently some idiot turned onto the tracks and drove along them thinking it was a road, or so they were claiming.

Le plonker was probably affected by the "pong cloud" that has drifted over here from France.
