Golf members given cakes and treats as a thankyou for fundraiser
12:00am Sunday 27th January 2013 in News
Golf club members were treated to cakes and pastries as part of a thank you for their fundraising efforts.
Members of Shirley Park Golf Club were given the treats for their efforts to raise money for the Croydon Opportunity Pre-school Group for Children with Special Needs.
The occasion marked ten years of successive fundraising by the Golf Club for the pre-school, the only one of its kind in the borough dedicated to children with special needs.
Ex-club captain Monty Powell presented the pre-school with the Club’s latest donation of £10,000.
Julie Newton-Smith, Opportunity Group Manager, said: ““This is a fabulous piece of equipment.
“It’s something the Group would never have been able to afford without the donations from Shirley Park Golf Club”.
