Firefighters tackled flames last night after waste that had been illegally dumped in the road was set alight.
Industrial waste strewn across a 150-yard stretch of Latham's Road in Waddon went up in flames in the early hours of Monday morning.
One fire crew from Croydon attended the scene at around 2am and put out the fire.
They then cleared the waste - including building materials, plasterboard, hay bales and beds - from the road.
Illegal dumping is a recurring problem at the site.
