A man and a dog were rescued from a house fire in Coulsdon on Saturday.
Four crews from Purley, Croydon and Wallington fire stations were called to Woodcote Grove Road, at 11.29pm.
London Ambulance were also called to the scene and treated a 28-year-old man for smoke inhalation.
He was taken to Croydon University Hospital as a priority and his dog was looked after by neighbours.
A large part of the first floor of the property was damaged by the fire, which was under control by 00.25am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
