Businesses head to Cannes to promote Croydon
Big name companies are ready to demonstrate that Croydon means business at the international property show taking place in Cannes next month.
The town will be represented by a private sector consortium working under the Develop Croydon brand.
They will promote Croydon at MIPIM 2013 from March 12 to 15.
This year’s Develop Croydon delegation includes Hammerson, Croydon Council, Mott Macdonald, Schroders, Menta and Croydon Council Urban Regeneration Vehicle (CCURV).
Nathan Elvery, deputy chief executive of Croydon Council, said: “Signs of progress are already visible with a number of major schemes now in development.
“These include our civic hub, a new footbridge at East Croydon Station that extends capacity by 30 per cent, the first speculative grade A office building for over a decade by Abstract Securities and the substantial remodelling of 200,000 sq feet of Grade A offices space by Canmoor Asset Management and CarVal Investors.
“There are also large residential schemes from the likes of Berkeley and Barratt as well as public realm projects to transform our public spaces.”
