Eleven family members spanning three generations were among those making a splash for charity at the Purley Swimathon on Saturday.
Bill Tubb, aged 75, of Purley, led a team formed of his three daughters, two sons, daughter-in-law and four grandchildren through 120 laps to raise £800 for charity.
The 'Tubb Squad' raised the cash for the Reedham Foundation, a charity that helps orphaned children.
Mr Tubb said: "The Reedham Trust does great work with children who for all sorts of reasons cannot live at home and we’ve been supporting them for years."
The second day of the Swimathon takes place at Purley Leisure Centre on Thursday.
Hundreds of swimmers are taking part.
