Brothel shut down by eagle eyed cops
A brothel has been shut down in the town centre.
Officers from Croydon’s antisocial behaviour team received complaints about the behaviour linked to flats above shops in South End, Croydon.
Police established that the address was being run as a brothel after carrying out further intelligence checks.
Officers visited the brothel and spoke to women who worked at the venue.
They confirmed it was a brothel and said they worked there of their own free will.
The flat was being let by a Croydon estate agent to a Spanish company.
On January 31 the estate agents were told to evict the tenants.
On February 6, the police were told the current users had been evicted and the contract with the Spanish company had been terminated.
PC Chris Duffee, from Croydon Police’s Antisocial Behaviour Team said: "We started receiving complaints from local businesses and residents at the beginning of the year.
"It was clear the premises were being used as a brothel.
Cabinet member for community safety, Simon Hoar, said: "This is a great example of partnership work protecting the community.
"The police, council and a local business have worked together to bring about this result, which will benefit local residents and retailers."

I'll make it clear that I do not and did not frquent this "brothel". But can the paragon's of virtue in this article please explain how closing this place benefits the community?
Seriously. What do they think the "clientele" of this sort of place will do next weekend?
Perhaps that will be more anti-social than having consensual sex based upon a financial agreement?
