Adele recently triumphed at the Golden Globes Awards
Former BRIT school pupil Adele struggled to hold back tears last night after winning an Oscar at the 2013 Academy Awards.
The 24-year-old was announced as the winner of the Best Original Song Oscar for Skyfall, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night.
The Chasing Pavements singer, who wore a floor length embellished black Jenny Packham gown, also gave her first live performance of the James Bond theme since giving birth to her son Angelo James last October.
So far in her career Adele has won 105 awards, but the prestigious Oscar followed her recent success at the Golden Globes and the Grammys.
Accepting the award with her co-writer Paul Epworth Adele said: "Thank you so much. This is amazing."
