Firefighters cut the roof from a car to free its driver after a crash last night.

The 55-year-old woman was rushed to hospital for treatment after her Renault Clio collided with another car at the junction of Stafford Road and Hannibal Way in Croydon.

Paramedics treated her for pelvic injuries after the crash at around 8.20pm. She was taken to St George's Hospital as a priority. 

One fire crew from Croydon station attended the scene of the accident, sawing the roof off the woman's car to extract her.

London Ambulance Service sent one ambulance crew, a single responder in a car and a duty station officer.
