Police deny targeting group of Crystal Palace fans

Police have denied claims they are specifically targeting a group of Crystal Palace supporters at home games.
The Holmesdale Fanatics, a group of fans trying to improve the atmosphere at Selhurst Park, have said they feel targeted by police.
In January, the group released a statement criticising officers after they arrested two men on suspicion of common assault, relating to an incident when Crystal Palace played Brighton last December.
But Chief Superintendent Adrian Roberts, who is the match commander for Palace’s big games, said his officers police according to intelligence they receive.
He said: "The Fanatics are not targeted by us as a cohort. As a Palace fan I love the fanatics and I think they are great. We will deal with individuals who step outside what is accepted as reasonable behaviour.
"That goes for Palace fans, away fans or whoever. We do things for the right reasons at the right time."
