10:05am Monday 11th March 2013 in News By Andrew Bloss
Two men are wanted by police in connection with a burglary and an attempted robbery in south-east London.
Barry Simpson, 20, from Croydon, is wanted for questioning in connection with an allegation of burglary in Woolwich in December 2012.
Police also want to speak to 27-year-old Lee Rice, from the Eltham in south-east London, in connection with an allegation of attempted robbery in Greenwich.
Police also released names and images of five other men from across south east London they wanted to speak to in connection with a number of allegations or failing to appear at court.
Detective Chief Inspector Mike Gammons, from Greenwich police, said all information from the public is treated in strict confidence.
He said: “You don’t have to tell us who you are when you call us - all we want is information on the whereabouts of these men.
“Two men have been recently arrested after we released their images and names in the local press and on Twitter.
“We would like to thank all the people that have contacted us to provide information. This is an excellent example of police and local communities working together.”
Anyone with information should call 020 3276 0750 or anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
