More than £4,000 was raised for Sam Beare Hospice through a ladies lunch and fashion show with a twist.
The aim of the fashion show was for guests to see if they could spot the difference between outfits modelled from high street stores and those modelled from Sam Beare shops.
The hospice shops clothes were provided by the stores in Weybridge, Walton and Chertsey, and when the origin of the outfits were revealed, a loud gasp echoed through the room.
The ladies who attended also enjoyed a preview of this summer’s clothing range from Debenhams in Walton and bridal wear from Love Me Do Brides.
Margaret Watford, co-organiser of the event, said: “Everyone has just been so helpful, and we’re especially grateful to all the local restaurants who donated a meal for two as part of our ‘Deal on a Dinner Plate’ raffle, which has raised in excess of £2.000.”
Students from Brooklands College also got involved by providing the hair and make up for the 18 volunteer models.
