Care home residents enjoyed visits from their families - as well as a few special guests - on Mother's Day.

Sunrise Senior Living in Russell Hill Road, Purley showed its appreciation of mums everywhere with a fun day of festivities on Sunday.

The action included carpet bowling - with resident Steve Pitman running away with the title after a series of strikes - and an appearance from pianist Alan Poulton.

Melissa Gregorian, director of community relations at the home, said: “We have a lot of mums here at Sunrise of Purley so this was a wonderful opportunity to dedicate the whole day to them.

"Everyone had a lovely time and it was great to see so many guests join our residents.

“The Mother’s Day lunch was excellent, as always everyone loved the Lumpy Bumpy Pudding and we must say a big thank you to Alan Poulton whose music was perfect for the afternoon.”
