Wandsworth Council uses a bailiff company that charges for credit card transactions a percentage of the debt to be paid off (2.5 per cent) with no upper limit of its charge, which obviously will be high.
I feel this to be an unfair tax on the poor, for being poor, and considering the treatment I have had, for a very poor service. There is no excuse for a large payment to be made to this company for a single transaction, and see no benefit it can have for our community. We all bear a responsibility to ensure the most needy of our community are protected from such unfair charges.
