Volunteers braved wind and rain to litter pick in New Addington on Saturday.
Organised by Pathfinders the group of adults and youngsters set out from the Timebridge Centre in Fieldway and collected 10 bags full of rubbish.
The session was organised as part of Croydon Council's Keep it Clean campaign.
The campaign is supported by the Croydon Guardian and aims to inspire communities and schools to take pride in their neighbourhood environment.
Marion Burchell, chairwoman of New Addington Pathfinders said: "A huge thank-you goes to those who turned out for the litter-pick, especially because the weather was so bad.
"Yes, the council has its part in keeping areas litter-free, but it’s everyone’s job not to drop litter in the first place.
"We hope that by doing this clean-up it will prevent people from dropping litter."
