I address this to the person who dug up the snowdrops in Morden recreation ground, off Central Road, probably for a Mothers’ Day gift.
I, and no doubt countless others, have enjoyed for many years the snowdrops that come up and flower for weeks, and grow when nothing else is able to. I have walked past these snowdrops with my dogs every day in winter for many years and they always put a smile on my face.
I have tried for many years and spent a fair bit of money to try and grow them in my garden to no avail and so have always found these to be very special to me personally as they are my favourite flower. However, when I walked my dogs I realised for some reason I had walked past them.
When I went back there was no sign of them at all and, when I kicked away the dead leaves, all there was to show for them was a round hole. I know it is very silly, but it has upset me greatly.
So, to the person who removed them, I hope it was worth it because you have certainly made my dog walking in winter a more dreary experience for me and possibly quite a few others.
