In answer to James Delaney’s letter (Funding is a real turn up for the bowlers, March 7), the bowling green in Dundonald recreation ground was closed because the Wandgas Bowling Club based there only had 10 members – too few to mount a decent programme of fixtures.
As a consequence, very little bowling took place. The land was better freed up for use by all residents.
