Nurse Leila Grebovich need not fear for her family's treatment at Croydon University Hospital, (March, 6, 2013)

In 2012 at 95 years old I was admitted to A&E  in early hours of the morning. Following details gained by the ambulance paramedics, I quickly received care & treatment including an ECG whilst waiting for a bed to be found for me.

During my three-and-a-half-week stay I was transferred to Kings College Hospital where a cardiac procedure was carried out before returning me to Croydon where I continued to receive wonderful care & noticed other patients the same. Our privacy was always maintained behind curtains.

There was one night when I was woken up about 2.30am and moved to another ward, when my bed was required for an emergency of the kind dealt with there.

Early February, age 96, I was rushed to Kings College Hospital where a team was awaiting me to continue treatment carried out by paramedics en route.

During my 10 days in Kings I was moved to different wards four times including being wakened at 2am to be taken a long way to a suitable bed. My bed was required for an emergency brought in that night.

At all times I received care & treatment however busy the nurses were. As nurse Leila gains more experience she will find that these things happen to anyone not only her Grandmother, distressing though they are.
