The guide that accompanied my council tax bill this week had a pie chart on page 4 showing how the tax is to be split between Surrey County Council, Surrey Police and Epsom & Ewell Council.
Puzzlingly, the 11% share going to Epsom & Ewell is shown on the pie chart as barely a quarter the size of Surrey Police’s 13%. It is not clear who was responsible for preparing the document but one wonders if this is an innocent mistake or a deliberate attempt to show the council in a better light than they deserve!
