Can I ask people to respond to the amended planning application by Viridor for an incinerator in Beddington Lane?

The proposal to increase the height of the chimney to 95m means it will be seen for miles.

Pollution is already at maximum levels so placing an incinerator there cannot be right.

People have a right to know all the facts of the application so they can comment on it. There are no figures from Viridor on what they will give to the community if this application is passed. Is this is because the figure is low?

Residents have until tomorrow (Friday) to respond to the amended plans.

As part of the consultation I asked at the full council meeting on March 4 for a planning officer to attend Beddington library on a Saturday to explain the application to residents.

Liberal Democrat councillors agreed this should be done, and were going to get Viridor to fund this. I am appalled this has not  happened. The council funded a visit by councillors to the Viridor site at Lakeside, so why can they not fund an officer at Beddington library?
