A Baptist minister will be among those riding 100km through the heart of London to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice.
Richard Littledale, 48, the minister at Teddington Baptist Church, will set off from Crystal Palace and cycle to Alexandra Palace and back again on June 8 for the Nightrider challenge.
Mr Littledale recently handed over a cheque for £300 after a training cycle, having seen a member of his church spend the last few weeks of his life at the Esher hospice.
The cheque is part of the £800 Mr Littledale has already raised for the hospice. With a popular blog and large following on Twitter, it is online that the minister’s sponsorship target has soared.
Mr Littledale said he was surprised by the continuing generosity of his family and friends and has had to increase his original target twice already, and he is sure once the members of his church start donating the figure will soar.
