A doctor presented groundbreaking cancer research to politicians this week.
Dr Maria Vinci, 38, of the Institute of Cancer Research, Sutton, presented her work on 3D tumour models to politicians and a panel of expert judges in Parliament on Monday.
Dr Vinci is up against other research scientists in a competition where winners are judged by leading academics and receive between £1,000 and £3,000.
She said: "I hope that meeting the MPs will make the politicians more aware of how important it is for them to support science in order to bring on new life-saving discoveries."
