By day, he is a community fundraiser for Princess Alice Hospice and by night, Tim Green will be whizzing through the streets of the big smoke.
Mr Green, 24, who has as a community fundraiser for the hospice since October, is part of the hospice’s team of cyclists who will ride 100km for the 2013 Nightrider challenge to raise at least £350.
To prepare for the cycle on June 8, Mr Green has done a series of training rides around Portsmouth, taking in the sites of the Spinnaker and the Victory.
Mr Green said: “I signed up and within five hours I had received the following messages of support; ‘You must be mad’, ‘You’re not fit enough for that’ and my personal favourite, “Tim, you may want to actually purchase a bike for this challenge’.
“Despite these less than encouraging remarks, I am determined to complete the challenge and raise as much money as I can for this great charity.
“The charity does amazing work and I will be motivated during my training and at the event by knowing I am making a real difference to the care the team is able to provide.”
