Canoeists are preparing to paddle 125 miles from Devizes to Westminster to raise money for charity.
David Monk, site manager at Clarendon School in Hampton, will take on the gruelling international canoe race across four days of the Easter weekend.
The 54-year-old will be joined by 21-year-old Tom Barnett-Salter, a former pupil of the school that caters for people with learning difficulties and complex needs.
The pair have braved wet, windy and cold conditions to go out training for the past six months and will raise money for Hampton based children’s hospice Shooting Star Chase.
Mr Monk said: “It’s something I have always wanted to do. I have liked canoeing and in this country it’s the ultimate challenge.”
