Long Ditton St Mary’s Junior School welcomed a teacher from Uganda for a special assembly.
The school in Sugden Road forged a link with Kaladima P7 School in 2010 and two teachers from the school visited the UK in December that year.
Missy, the Ugandan teacher, was treated to a welcome assembly which consisted of sing-a-longs of the school’s song; We are the children of St Mary’s School, and an African song, Jesu Mara.
Missy was then presented with an England rugby top and England football top, with Missy emblazoned on the back.
Headteacher David Gumbrell said: “It was a real celebration of our twin-school association and the experience was extremely uplifting.”
