A student at a school in Putney has been presented with a silver medal by the Mathematical Association.
Isobel Stuart-Smith from Hurlingham School, gained one of the highest scores in the international primary mathematics challenge.
The competition attracts entrants from across the UK as well as from other countries including Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
Isobel was one of six gold award winners at the school when the first stage of the challenge took place last November.
Headmaster Jonathan Brough, discovered her answers placed her in the top two per cent, meaning Isobel qualified for a bonus round.
Isobel went on to score 92 per cent on the challenging second paper which secured her silver medal.
Mr Brough said: “Here at Hurlingham, we are all extremely proud that Isobel has won a silver award.
"It is such an achievement to receive recognition for mathematical proficiency on an international scale.”
