Britpop heroes Suede came to Kingston on Saturday for an intimate acoustic gig ahead of the release of their new album.

The London group, whose hits include Animal Nitrate, Trash, Beautiful Ones and She's in Fashion, were at Banquet Records in Eden Street on Saturday morning, where they played a short set to a small crowd of lucky fans.

Their apparence came ahead of the release of their new album Bloodsports, and the group played three new songs as well as Trash, before signing copies of the new album.

Lead singer Brett Anderson told the audience to support their local record store, before adding "This is as close as you'll come to us playing in your front room."
