A man who died in hospital after being found lying in a Thames Ditton road has been named.
James Williams, from Thames Ditton, was found lying in Speer Road, about 200 yards from Thames Ditton station.
South East Coast Ambulance was called at 7am to reports of a man unconscious in the road and sent two ambulances and a car to the scene.
An ambulance service spokesman said the man was in cardiac arrest when they arrived at the scene and resuscitation attempts continued on the way to hospital.
The man, said to be in his late 30s, was taken to St George’s Hospital but later died.
A Surrey Police spokeswoman said the death is now being investigated by Battersea Coroner’s Office.
