The Molesey Boat Club duo of Andrew Triggs Hodge and Moe Sbihi were part of the triumphant GB rowing team at the 2013 World Rowing Cup Series in Sydney.

Triggs Hodge, who won Olympic gold at London 2012 in the men’s fours, and Sbihi, a bronze medalist in the men’s eights, combined Down Under as one quarter of the GB men’s eights team.

Despite the series taking place in the off-season, GB turned in an upbeat performance to finish with four golds, a silver and two bronze medals.

Triggs Hodge said: “It was hard to get ourselves up for a race in this part of the season.

“But the organisers here have done a fantastic job and I hope that we have put on the kind of performance they wanted.

“Now it’s back to the UK and to more hard work.”

After opening a good lead, the eights kept the advantage to the end, beating beat the USA into second place by almost two seconds.

The next world cup is being held at Eton Dorney from June 21-23. For tickets and more details, visit www.wrcupetondorney2013.com.
