A public meeting is taking place next week on the future of the borough's fire service.

It comes after the London Fire Brigade (LFB) revealed they need to make £28.8m savings, with Clapham Fire Station threatened with closure.

The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) is consulting on its Draft Fifth London Safety Plan, which outlines how the authority will deliver the service over three years.

Residents are invited to have their say on the future of the LFB and find out more about the proposals.

A total of 12 fire stations in the capital face closure, while 18 fire engines will be removed and firefighter posts reduced to 520.

Darren Munro, borough commander for Wandsworth, said: "The meetings have been arranged for local people to come along and hear about the changes being proposed to the fire service across London, as part of the Draft Fifth London Safety Plan."

The meeting is taking place on April 4 in the Open Door Community Centre, Keevil Drive, Wandsworth at 7pm.
