The distraught father of a toddler killed when the wind blew her pushchair into the path of a delivery van has paid tribute to his "beautiful little girl" who was looking forward to being a bridesmaid at his wedding.

The incident happened at 8.45am on Monday outside the home three-year-old Olivia Langley shared with her nursery nurse mother Louise, in Woburn Court in Wellesley Road, Croydon.

The toddler was in cardiac arrest when she was taken to St George's Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10.03am.

Paying tribute to his daughter, Stewart Langley, a former boxer said: "Olivia was a beautiful little girl. She was a typical girl, very bossy- she used to boss me and Charlie [her brother] around, but she was always well behaved.

"She was very cute and her hair was so long, I have never known a girl of that age to have hair like that."

Mr Langley, 31, who works as a scaffolder said his former partner was distraught.

He said: "She is distraught, we all are. It is absolutely tragic. I don't think people have really come to terms with it yet, it has not sinked in."

Olivia was due to be a bridesmaid in August at Mr Langley's wedding to his partner Ashleigh Sharp, with whom he has two children-Charles, 2 and Jessica, 1.

Mr Langley said on Saturday, when he last saw his daughter, she had been excited about wearing her white dress.

He said: "She was going to be a bridesmaid in August, we had her dress. We saw her last Saturday and we were putting it up against her, she loved it and was like a little princess."

Speaking about Monday morning, Mr Langley said Olivia had been put in her buggy because her mum was running late.

He said: "There is a lot of confusion, I know as much as everyone else. Her mum put her in her buggy because she was running late for work.

"I am not sure if she was locking the door but she turned or getting something from inside but she turned her back for that split second and it had happened."

"I was at work and I had a missed call from her mum and a missed call and text from my mum saying to ring her urgently.

"I made my way to St George's and on my way to the hospital I got another phonecall telling me she had passed away.

"For me it wasn't a patch on what her mother was going through, being there at the time. God only knows what I would have done in that situation."
