A woman killed when she was knocked down by a car in Thornton Heath has been named as Charmaine Duncan.

The 29-year-old was hit in Whitehorse Road, near the junction with High Street, Thornton Heath on Tuesday, March 19.

Officers were called at 2.33pm to reports of the collision.

London Ambulance Service also attended and the 29-year-old was taken to St Georges Hospital.

She died in hospital on Friday, March 22.

An investigation has been launched by officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit based at Catford. DC Ian Payne, who leads the investigation, said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to get in contact with us.

"A number of people rushed to help Charmaine immediately after the collision. If you are one of these people and you have yet to speak to the police, please contact the Road Death Investigation Unit at Catford Traffic Garage on 020 8285 1574."

The driver of the car, a black Mercedes, stopped at the scene.

No arrests have been made and police inquiries continue.
