From the group that brought Calendar Girls to the stage earlier this year comes a comic musical based on Victoria Wood’s classic soap opera parody Acorn Antiques.
Kingston Vale Operatic and Dramatic Society (KVODS) brings the show, with script and songs written by Wood, to Kingston Grammar School.
Director Jeff Raggett says: “The most dangerous thing we have had in rehearsals is falling about laughing reading the script.
“Every time you do it you’re reading more into it.
"The great thing about it is Victoria Wood’s writing is so clever.
"You have to go wrong at the right time. You have to work at doing those things and then there is a lot of slapstick stuff."
Acorn Antiques; the Performing Arts Centre; Kingston Grammar School, London Road, Kingston; April 10 to April 13; £16, £12.50 for concessions; visit ticketsource. co.uk/kvods or call 07982 046210.
